Membership & Subscription Terms
1. Purpose of these Membership & Subscription Terms
These Membership & Subscription Terms (“Membership Terms”) govern paid membership offered through Sanctum Sound Genesis.
These Membership Terms explain:
- Who may become a member.
- What membership may include.
- Automatic renewal.
- Failed payments.
- Cancellation.
- Refunds.
- Membership termination for misconduct.
- And other rules applicable to paid membership.
- The distinction among Guests, Registered Users, and Paid Members.
- How membership billing works.
- Payment authorization.
- Price changes.
- Membership expiration.
- Membership suspension.
- The relationship between membership and separately purchased content.
These Membership Terms supplement and form part of the:
- Sanctum Sound Terms of Service.
- They should also be read together with the:
- Privacy Policy
- Cookie Policy & Cookie Preferences
- Copyright Policy
- DMCA / Copyright Infringement Procedure
- Purchase, Digital Content & Access Policy
- Cancellation & Refund Policy.
If these Membership Terms conflict with the general Terms of Service concerning a matter specifically related to membership, the more specific membership provision should govern to the extent of that conflict, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
2. The Genesis Membership Model
Sanctum Sound Genesis is presently intended to launch with:
- ONE PAID MEMBERSHIP PLAN.
The purpose of this approach is simplicity.
Genesis does not require multiple confusing subscription tiers merely to create artificial distinctions among users.
The final public-facing name of the membership should be:
- SANCTUM MEMBERSHIP
rather than generic terminology such as “Premium Plan,” unless Sanctum Sound later determines otherwise.
The membership may be offered on a:
- MONTHLY RECURRING BASIS
at the price disclosed to the user before enrollment.
The current contemplated Genesis price is:
$15.00 USD PER MONTH
unless changed before public launch.
The production Terms must reflect the actual launch price.
3. Membership is Different from Registration
Sanctum Sound recognizes an important distinction between:
- REGISTERING
- BECOMING A PAID MEMBER.
Creating a Sanctum Sound account does not automatically provide paid membership benefits.
A Registered User may have an account without an active membership.
A Paid Member is a Registered User whose account has an active paid membership entitlement.
REGISTRATION ESTABLISHES IDENTITY.
MEMBERSHIP UNLOCKS THE MEMBER EXPERIENCE.
4. Guests
A Guest may access portions of Sanctum Sound that Sanctum Sound designates as publicly available.
Genesis is intended to permit Guests to listen to music specifically designated by Sanctum Sound administrators as:
PUBLIC
without imposing an arbitrary listening limit merely because the listener has not registered or subscribed.
Public availability remains subject to:
- Content rights.
- Territorial restrictions.
- Technical availability.
- Service rules.
- And any other lawful restrictions applicable to the content.
Guest access does not automatically include membership personalization functionality.
5. Guest Purchase Flow
Where a Guest selects an eligible item for purchase, the intended Genesis flow should be:
SELECT PURCHASE
↓
CREATE ACCOUNT OR SIGN IN
↓
REVIEW PURCHASE
↓
COMPLETE PAYMENT
↓
PURCHASE ASSOCIATED WITH ACCOUNT
↓
ACCESS PURCHASED CONTENT
A Guest should not be required to purchase a recurring membership merely to buy separately purchasable content.
